Wethers, or gelded male goats, are a good option for fiber artists who only want to produce fiber, rather than breed for offspring. Their fiber stays finer for a longer time and their temperaments are more even and mild. They do not go into rut, which means the smell is much more tolerable on a year round basis. We wether all of our males that are not of breeding quality so we nearly always have several available.
